Principal's Corner

April 20th, 2020

Congratulations to our three Students of the Week!

Each student will have a prize waiting for them when they pick up their work. Certificates will also be provided.

Toby Arnold - Carle’ student. Toby has really taken charge of the work assigned and is taking care of business with Health especially!

Veronnica “Ronni” Rose - Blue Heron student - She is doing a ton of work, Ronni has always known how to take care of business and she is taking advantage of the lack of distractions!

Brayden Weeks - Highlands student - He is picking up work, turning in work weekly, using the Google Classroom, asking for help when needed and staying in touch.  Excellent job!

Hello Carle’, Blue Heron and Highlands Families,

I hope all of you are well and are getting a good schedule for school work by now. We continue to fine tune the process of providing work for you to do that is in the sweet spot - not too easy, not too hard. We continue developing Google Classrooms and other ideas for distance learning

Report cards for Carle’ and Blue Heron students go home this week. There was the potential of 15 credits (gold status) between February 24th and April 3rd, 7.5 credits could have been earned before school dismissal.

We are really worried that some of you are not getting your work back to us. It is so important that you turn in work weekly to continue to earn credits. Please contact your teachers with any questions, if you need help or just to check in! Seniors in Portfolio classes, come pick up your binder and contact Mr. Anderson to schedule your digital presentations!

We are working on a new Alternative Education website where all work and teacher contacts are in one place. Thanks Mrs. Wiemelt. Look for the link soon on the Carle’ Facebook page, a newsletter, email, or on our existing KUSD site.

Seniors on the Graduation List

1st - please make sure you are keeping up with your work. Don’t let this crazy time derail all of the hard work you have been doing for years. Make sure Angie H. has the measurements for your cap and gown. We will be scheduling individual photo shoots

when they arrive for a graduation gift. We are working on plans for an alternate ceremony and will be working along with both LLHS and KEC to plan things to honor you. We need a photo of your signature sent in, please email them to your principal and stay tuned for updates!

School Dismissal

At this time, school is dismissed for the remainder of the school year. We are still waiting to hear news about graduation and other culminating events. Seniors, please keep doing your work toward your graduation requirements and communicating with your teachers and principal. Apply for scholarships, sign up for Woodland (or other) College and work hard. We will be including more updates after Spring Break about graduation and other news.

March 31st, 2020

Hello Carle’, Blue Heron and Highlands Families,

I hope all of you are well and are able to get your work done and not be too bored and lonely in this time of social distancing and fears about covid-19. We can not tell you how much we miss you. I know many of us wish for a vacation and dream of staying at home, but this was not what we had in mind!

We look forward to grading your work, preparing new work, and developing Google Classrooms and other ideas for distance learning. We would much rather see you in person, but we hope you are having successes with the work we have prepared for you. Please contact your teachers with any questions, if you need help or just to check in! The work you turned in today, last week and up until credit check will be included in the 5th grading period. We are working on a new Alternative Education website where all work and teacher contacts are in one place. Thanks Mrs. Wiemelt. Look for the link soon on the Carle’ Facebook page, a newsletter, email, or on our existing KUSD site.
